Speaking at the AYA Women’s Summit on June 30, Delay explained that she started working at Adom FM at just 17 years old, after first working at Live FM. She hosted a late-night radio show from 12 am to 4 am for a whole year but was never paid because the station did not see her as a full worker.

Delay said she didn’t mind not being paid because she loved journalism and wanted to be great at it. However, her time at Adom FM ended suddenly when Mr. Frederick Nuamah told her she was no longer needed and let her go.

Even though her journalism dream was cut short, Delay went on to become a successful TV host and businesswoman. Her story shows the struggles many young people face when trying to build a career in media.

This news is important because it highlights the challenges young talents go through, especially when they work hard without pay or job security. Delay’s experience reminds us to support and encourage young people chasing their dreams.
